Visitation Information

En Español

We understand that visits from family and friends are an important part of a patient’s journey to better health. We do welcome visits. However, for the safety of our patients, we have restricted some of our guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visitor Policy

In addition to the visitor guidelines below, we ask that you do all you can to decrease the spread of COVID-19 by continuing to limit your attendance at gatherings, wearing a mask, washing your hands and practicing social distancing in the community.

Our clinical and administrative leaders review COVID-19 positivity rates at Texas Children’s, across the Texas Medical Center and in the community daily, and if/when rates change, we will act quickly to reexamine and update our visitation guidelines, as needed.

Pediatrician Practice visits allow two healthy adult visitors, and ask to minimize accompanying siblings, if possible.

  • Additionally, all patients and caregivers will be subject to screening (exposure and symptom questions and a temperature check) upon arrival. Any ill caregiver may be asked to leave.

What are we doing to keep you and your family safe?

Once you Arrive

You and your child’s temperature will be taken, You will be asked a series of symptom-related questions, and provided a mask. Please wear this mask at all times for the duration of your visit at any of our sites.

We ask that you please practice appropriate social distancing whenever and wherever possible, including waiting in line.

For Patients Completing a Video Visit

Meeting with a provider by video visit is a convenient way to receive care without coming to the practice in person.

You can use a web browser on your computer or an app on a mobile device to start a video visit. Mobile devices are preferred, because the MyChart app makes it easy to access your visit and most mobile devices already have the appropriate camera and microphone setup for video visits. Learn More
